Can We Montage This?

April 14, 2015

Sorry. (If you're American, read: sorey)

It's been crazy busy since I got back to Los Angeles in August, so I am sorry for the lack of posts here.

Not long after I landed, I was working on short films with many of my friends here (sit tight! clips will be posted soon!) and going out to auditions. I was lucky enough to be cast in the Chinese American Student Association (CASA)'s culture show, "Triad and Tested". It's a show about Andy and Kelly, two college best friends who come together to face the odds stacked against them. Andy is at risk of being deported, and to save her best friend, Kelly offers to marry Andy. Hilarity ensues when you add in that Andy is the son of a triad boss, the immigration officer is a nutjob, and some crazy kung-fu. If you'd like to see it, we've got a recording right here. We performed in Bovard Auditorium (the largest performance venue on campus #tourguidefacts), and it's always been on my USC bucket list to do a show in there. Special shoutout to Kristie Ko and Nico Ransinangue, the writers (and directors) for being so flexible and encouraging throughout the whole process. Thank you to Terrence Leung, the superstar of the show, for giving me so much to work with in every scene. Seriously, I have no idea how he has so much energy all the time! (Bonus fun fact: Terrence and I just finished another show together!)

Besides the culture show, I joined a sorority (Alpha Gamma Delta!), the Residential Student Government, and the Admission Center as a Tour Guide (if you want to know more about USC, I'm your gal)! So I've really been keeping busy here.

I also just wrapped on another show with USC, but that deserves its own special blog post, so keep an eye out for that!

Until later (but not too much later, I promise!),
